I always find this time of year hard to dress for. I think the key to making the transition easier is by having pieces that'll take you from the warmer weather into the colder weather by being able to add or subtract items based on the temperature.
Here is a look at the top 10 key pieces, in my opinion, to have for this transitional time of year.
Here is a look at the top 10 key pieces, in my opinion, to have for this transitional time of year.
(1) Utility Jacket - The key to making the easiest transition is with layers. A utility jacket (and in this case, a camo one) makes for a fun way to add layers and keep warm on those cold mornings.
(2) Scarf - This scarf you guys. So cute. It's actually got light pink polka dots on the black side. Now a days, we seem to be about mixing patterns so I wouldn't think twice about pairing this with my camo utility jacket and a tee.
(3) Leather Jacket - This is another great layering piece. Looks more chic than the utility jacket but still very edgy.
(4) Black Jeans - Black jeans for all seasons are really a must. But for Fall, they really are a great staple. Dress them up or dress them down.
(5) Black Leather Skirt - This skirt, you guys. I'm obsessed. I think it could easily be dressed for the warmer weather with no tights and some cute edgy sandals or booties. And when the colder weather hits, pair it with tights, a cute sweater and statement necklace or scarf and you've got yourself a chic look.
(6) Ankle Booties - These ankle booties are a must. I actually wore my last pair out and had to invest in another pair this season. They can be worn with shorts, pants, dresses and skirts. The options are endless.
(7) Two-Tone Watch - a two-toned watch is just a given, really. It'll literally go with everything.

(8) Statement Necklace - I love this statement necklace and it would look great paired with a dress or with just a simple tee and jeans outfit.
(9) Tee - A tee (in any color) is a great layering piece. Add it to the utility or leather jacket, scarf, jeans and a booties and you've got yourself a great transitional outfit.
(10) Tote Bag - This bag seriously holds anything and everything. And this color, perfect for any season, especially Fall.

This time of year is so difficult for me to dress for! I want to wear Fall clothes but it's still 90 degrees out. Ugh! I'm wearing my leather mini skirt right now and it is the perfect transitional pieces. It feels fall-ish without being to warm for the hot weather :)

I totally agree that this is a difficult time to dress for. It is still really warm here, but I'm sick of my summer clothes. I really like your picks, especially 5, 6, and 8!
