pillow talk.

Anyone that knows me, knows I'm a bit obsessed with pillows.

My latest pillow obsession has been the pillows from Chapters.  It started right before Christmas - they were having a deal on all of their pillows and I had a gift card so I bought two.  A Christmasy one and one I had had my eye on for awhile.

Anyway, that sparked an obsession in me.  So when it was getting close to Valentine's day, I had taken note of all the new pillows they had recently gotten in and I had fallen in love with several of them.

Low and behold two of them (this one and this one) were waiting for me on Valentine's day from a certain special someone.

Plus, I had to throw in a few from Target.  Because, well, it's Target and I'm obsessed with Target too.  I have this pillow and I'm in love!

Anthropologie - for the home

My cousin is getting married in September and so I've been shopping around for her bridal shower and wedding gifts.  I stopped in at Anthropologie to have a quick look for her and couldn't help but love a whole bunch of home items!  The only thing I picked up was the candle but I could have gotten a lot more!

Home Decor Sunday: Silver Accents

Since last week's Home Decor post was all about gold accents, I thought I'd stick with the metal theme and do silver this time.

Plus, Target has great budget friendly home decor items so I stuck with the same Target edition as well.

Happy Sunday all!

Home Decor Sunday: Gold Accents

This post was inspired by those two little gold animal figurines that I scored at Target a few weeks ago at half price.  I can't tell you what drew me to them but I thought they were adorable and now they have a permament home in our living room.

Anyway, here's some more great gold finds from Target.
I love gold decorative accents as it adds warmth to any room.

Home Decor Sunday - Nautical

So yes....
if you stopped by my blog yesterday, you would have seen a nautical themed trend report.
And yes, today I'm featuring that same trend.

I thought I'd stick with the same trend for home decor Sunday since the nautical trend seems to be popular in both fashion and interior design this year.

Here's a few ideas if you want to add a bit of nautical to your home....

Home Decor Sunday - Blue

Today's topic is blue furniture.
I love anything that has a vintage/country feel to it so robin egg blue furniture is beautiful in my books!

Here's a few ways of how to add a vintage/country flare to any room in your home....

If I had a mud room, I'd want something like this in it.  Not only is it functional but it's pretty too.
Perfect if you ask me.

I love this blue buffet hutch in this dining room.  It is very country"ish" and very unexpected in a dining room, which I like.  It creates a more laid back casual space while the chandelier adds a touch of fanciness and elegance to the room.

I love this cabinet.  Perfect for a country styled kitchen.

This dresser is beautiful.
I love the antique finish to it and I also love the matching mirror and chair.  Very vintage.

This is how you create a functional yet stylish work space.  Perfecto!

I love everything about this room.  This room screams vintage.  I love the old window panes hanging on the wall, the white furniture and especially the blue furniture in the centre of the room.  It's a great focal point for this otherwise plain space.

Happy Sunday!

Home Decor Sunday - Patios

Since we've had such beautiful weather in Vancouver recently, I thought I'd share some patio ideas.  Our weather has felt more like summer than spring.
In fact, I think this has gotten a lot of people thinking about being outside more -
why not start with your own back yard?!

Here's a few patio ideas I'm loving right now.

I love the white wicker furniture in this picture and the vintage looking coca cola picture.
Very vintage inspired and also feels very southern and inviting.

What drew me to this picture was all the incredible blue hues surrounding this patio.
From the cushions to the vases, to the hydrangea flowers - everything feels so Springy.

Now, this patio may have an unfair advantage just because of it's location.  Who doesn't want to eat dinner on the water every night, at dusk, watching the sunset?!
Anyway, besides the gorgeous view in this photo, I really was drawn to the beautiful greens.
I especially love the large green umbrella over the table and the patterned carpet.
The beautiful greens and blues in the carpet pick up the grass and water surrounding the table.

I could definitely eat a dinner or two on this patio.

I thought this was a very simple idea that anybody could really do.
I love the little love seat and the yellow and green cushions.
I could definitely see sitting out there in the evenings in front of the burning candle lantern.
And the best thing, you could enjoy this area rain or shine because it's undercover.

I loved this photo because of the chandelier   Who would think to put a chandelier outside?
I love it and think it would be perfect for a bachelorette pad.  I also love the shelvin -very unique.

This picture screamed Tuscany to me - between the vines growing over the patio, the rock work/door frame in the background to the olive green/coral/beige color scheme - perfetto!!
I would love to spend an afternoon lounging around in this backyard and taking dips into the pool.  It's a very inviting setting that would be perfect for entertaining.

Happy Sunday!

Home Decor Sunday - Beach Theme

As you read this post, my husband and I are soaking up the Cuban sunshine on our vacay.
I thought it was only appropriate to dedicate this weeks home decor post to anything and everything beach themed.

So have a look at some of my favourite beach themed decor....

My favourite part of this shelving unit is the different types and colors of coral used.
I also love the stacks of books used - I think it's great that they used books in the same color scheme as the coral. Love it!

This ladder shelf is adorable!  And the beach decor is perfect.

I love all of this beach decor - from the shells, to the lanterns to the teal/turquoise colors - it's all perfect.

I love this entire room.  It has a great beach/cape cod feel to it.  I love the light blue and white color combo - it makes the room feel so bright and airy.  I also think the wood paneling is a very unique touch.

This room doesn't scream beach but it does have some subtle touches of the beach that I love.  I love the light blue accents - leaving the room feel very calming.  I also love the big chunk of coral on the end table, along with the mixed coral patterned and striped pillows.

Happy Sunday!

Saturday Favourites (on Friday)

So I thought I'd switch it up and do my Saturday favourites on Friday.
Here's just a few things I'm loving right now...

Saturday Favourites

1) Lace Trimmed Denim Shorts
The ones I got are from Forever 21 but they are no longer available on the website - they are pretty much identical to the picture above.
Here are some similar shorts that are also cute - here and here

Home Decor Sunday - Shelving Decor

Today's Home Decor Post is all about shelving.
With house prices in Vancouver rising, a lot of people are having to downsize.
I love the idea of shelving for smaller homes because they let you:
a) decorate with your favourite decor pieces; and
b) they give you nice storage options without making a room feel too cluttered or cramped.

Here's some shelving ideas that I'm loving right now....

I love this type of shelving because not only does it act as shelving for your various items, but it also acts as a room divider if you want some separation for two different spaces.

Ladder shelving is a unique way to showcase various items.  I love how they've added dishes to these shelves - great for houses that have small kitchens and lack cupboard space.

I had to add this photo because as a girl who loves fashion, it would be my dream to have a cabinet just dedicated to my shoes.  I think shoes are so pretty so why not make them into a piece of art.  It's such a great idea especially for girls living on their own.  I'd do this in a heartbeat if I still lived alone.  Some how I don't think my husband would appreciate this art like I do ;)

I love this shelving - it looks like they've used old drawers and made shelving out of them.
I love the uniqueness and interest it creates to the room.

I love these kitchen shelves.  Great for added storage, accessibility when your cooking and overall, doesn't it just look cute?

Happy Sunday :)

Favourites/Home Decor

Today, since it's Saturday.  I thought I'd feature my favourites and a home decor post all in one.  So, here are a few of my favourite home decor items that I'm loving right now....

I've claimed my love for trays here on my blog before....and I still love them.
My favourite is the white one - just so crisp and clean looking

When I was pursuing the West Elm website, I couldn't help but be attracted to these little owls.  Aren't they adorable?!

I love the fun patterns these trays come in.  Perfect trays for accessories and knickknack items!

I really love the ikat pattern on this pillow.

I love the grey and white stripe trays.  Again, perfect for knickknacks.

I thought these coral topped bottles were so neat.  Not only do they have the beautiful coral but the jewels are beautiful as well.  And, they are a great place to, again, store knickknacks.  I thought in a bathroom they would look beautiful - with cotton balls or q-tips.

I love me some coral.  I don't really know why because my house is no where decorated to a beach theme but I just think a nice piece of coral is so beautiful.  I got mine at Marshalls but I thought the one from pottery Barn was beautiful too.  The one from Marshalls is beautiful because it has a beautiful glass base on it.  Here's what mine looks like:

I thought these clear glass canisters were so pretty.  They'd look so cute in a bathroom filled with cotton balls or q-tips.  But, I also thought they'd look cute in a family room or kitchen filled with candy.

I love these striped hand towels.  I'd get the monogrammed version.

Happy Saturday!

Home Decor Sunday - Bedrooms

Today's topic is bedrooms....and predominantly master bedrooms.
I love bedrooms that evoke a calmness to them.
Our master bedroom is small so that has left me very limited in what I can do to it.
With that being said, I have been able to add a few touches that has made it a calming, relaxing atmosphere.

Here are some master bedroom ideas I am loving right now.

I love the pretty flower pillows and pics in this picture, along with striped headboard.  They've really mixed prints well.

There are a number of things I love in this photo.
1) Mixed printed - striped bench and printed rug
2) mirrored bedside tables
3) lamps - love the base
4) mixed pieces of furniture - I love the mirrored side tables paired with the more vintage/traditional inspired wood dresser
5) My favourite thing about this room though is the mirrors behind the bedside tables.  This would be great in our master bedroom because mirrors create the illusion of a larger space. Not only are they a good tool for small spaces but the design of them is super pretty as well.

I loved the grey and white color scheme of this bedroom.  I think the wall color is gorgeous.  I also love the pattern mixing in the bedding and I especially love the two different night tables.  What a great and easy way to add a bit of flare to a room.

Again, I really love the grey and white in this room.  But what really stood out to me was the pop of yellow thrown in.  I also am a huge fan of the black and white family pics above the bed as well as the chandelier.  Gorgeous, all of it.

Don't you think this room exudes relaxation and calmness?  I do.  I especially love the mix of seafoam green and blue. And, again, I love the two DIFFERENT night stands.

What struck me the most about this room was the beautiful mint green color on the wall, along with the gold accents.  I love mint and gold together.  I also love the mirror above the bed.

Happy Sunday!

Home Decor Sunday - Dining Rooms

Today's interior design topic, is dining rooms.
Here are a few dining room ideas I'm loving right now....

I love the contrast of black table and white chairs.  Not to mention all the pops of colors used - including the bench, candles, vase/flowers and dessert tray in the background.

I love the vintage feel of this space.  From the white table, distressed looking cabinet, stainless steel/vintage tea pot and light blue accents.  Gorgeous!

This dining room is for the brave - the person who isn't afraid of using color and pattern.
I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to do this to my own dining room but I do love the turquoise and red colors together, along with the black and white striped chairs -
notice the red piping on the striped chairs to tie in the red chairs.
Very bold.

I love the simplicity and elegance of this room.
I love the white and grey theme and I also love that the only dark part of the room is the table - making it a focal point of the room.
The pattern on the end chairs is gorgeous as well.
Simplistic elegance, at it's best!

This room caught my eye because of the black/white theme,
along with the beautiful mix of patterns.
I seem to really be loving the contrasting table and chairs look
I also really love those "Bon Appetite" pillows - adorable!

Happy Sunday!

Home Decor Sunday - Front Entrance/Hallway Edition

For this week's home decor topic,
I thought I'd show some different ways to style hallways and/or front entrances.
Let's have a look....

Love the large mirror used in this space.  This is the perfect way to make a small entrance or hallway seem much larger.  Also love the pop of pink and black and white bench - perfect for sitting on to take your shoes on and off!

I love a wall full of pictures.  I love how this wall is not only full of family pictures but also full of different quotes.  Memories + inspiration = perfection!

Love this front entrance decor - especially the mint colored vase - what a beautiful pop of color!  Also love the vintage looking glass table.

Not only is this a very eye catching decorative front entrance but it is also very useful.  The hooks are perfect for coats and/or purses while the bench is perfect for taking your shoes on and off. The family portraits placed on the shelf complete the look and make it more homey.

I really loved the low shelf on this table.  I love a good stack of books and this stack is done to perfection!  I also love the yellow accents!

I had to include this picture because I loved the black table along with the lamp.  I also loved how  they brightened up the space by adding white picture frames to counteract the dark pieces of furniture.  Love it!

Happy Sunday!
