Maui favourites.

Maui.

It very much could be my favourite place on earth.

So, today, I thought I'd share with you some of my most favourite things to do, to see, to eat and to shop on the island.

To do.

Haleakala - You don't have to go at sunrise, although it's beautiful.  It still is beautiful to go up mid day and see the views along with the crater - quite the sight to be seen.  Plus, the drive up has some pretty great views too.

La Perouse Bay - hike through lava rock.  This was another incredible sight to see - miles upon miles of lava rock as you hike along the ocean.

Hike in Kapalua - This was a hike we did from Fleming Beach and is along the ocean basically on cliffs so, you can imagine, the views are stunning.  Plus if you make it to the end, there is a little cove where you can cliff jump.

Beaches - Kamaole I, II and II, Big Beach, Wailea Beach, Makena Landing, Kaanapali Beach, Kapalua Bay, Fleming Beach.   Sun, sad and turquoise blue water - not much more I can say!

Wailea Beach walk - this is a great walk to do in the morning with a coffee.  Leave your flip flops by the Mana Kai Resort and walk along the beach and take in the views of the beautiful ocean on one side and luxurious houses and resorts on the other.

Snorkeling - pretty much from any beach you can see lots of fish including the state fish humuhumunukunukuapua'a and turtles.  In fact we saw turtles on three different occasions

To see.

Front Street in Lahaina in the evening - this place can be pretty rowdy so if you're up for something a bit more lively this is the place for you.

Wind surfers along the Hana Highway - incredible sight to see, waves and wind surfers alike.

The Road to Hana - beautiful views.

Volcano Crater at Haleakala, along with the beautiful views of Maui.

Big Beach - in my opinion, the most beautiful beach in Maui.  Who knew water could be so turquoise!

To eat.

Duo at The Four Seasons - wedding reception dinner location.  We couldn't have picked a better restaurant to celebrate our marriage.  The food was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful and everyone, especially our waiter, was so accommodating.

The Hula Grill in Kaanapali - enjoy a delicious dinner with your toes in the sand.

Bubba Gumps in Lanaina - fun, lively atmosphere.

5 Palms at The Mana Kai Resort - beautiful view.

Moose McGillycuddy's - fun pub experience.

Fred's - great food, fun atmosphere.

Manoli's Pizza Company - great pizza, beautiful view.

Duke's in Kaanapali - we were planning to go there our last night but never made it.  We've heard, though, it's a very Hawaiian atmosphere and great food.

To shop.

Mahina - cutest boutique store with all the latest trends at affordable prices.

Sand People - cute little shop for anything beach related.  It's a great souvenir shop without having to buy tacky souvenirs.

Malibu Shirts - Hawaiian authentic vintage apparel.  Very cool shop because each item carries a different piece of history and the staff are happy to tell you the history behind each item.  It's almost like going to a museum.

The Shops at Wailea - open air mall with a good mix of high end and affordable stores

Whalers Village in Kaanapali - open air mall with a good mix of high end and affordable stores.  Lots of restaurants in walking distance as well so it's a great date night location.

Front Street in Lahaina - lots of shops to browse through.

Outlets in Lahaina - outlets + cheap = enough said.

Paia - cutest little shopping town
